What to record even if the pumper is in a hurry
- Scum thickness and distance from the outlet baffle
- Sludge depth and distance to the outlet
- Whether both lids were opened
- Condition of inlet and outlet tees
- Whether a few inches of sludge were left as seed (SIPH’s pumping page says the tank should not be pumped dry)
- Any recommendation about the drainfield, filter, or pump
